10 x DIY IKEA Hacks

Hi! It’s the first day of August and my last two weeks at work before I can finally fully focus on the new house and the little one that we can hopefully welcome next month! July went by so fast, spending lots of my spare time at IKEA. As you can guess, my new house will be full of IKEA pieces combined with some vintage items I stumbled upon by accident. On top of that I collected a few designer items because every house needs a few eyecatchers. These are actually my favorites. I wish I could furnish my whole house with designer pieces but unfortunately my bank account doesn’t allow me to. Luckily there are  a million of IKEA hacks ideas on the internet, that can make these simple items look like a million bucks. Here are my ten favorite ones:

1. The prettiest IKEA hack ever (via Babble).

2. The IKEA Rast 3 Drawer Chest never looked so chic before due to this IKEA rast campaign hack (via Almost makes perfect).

Vietnam

For anyone that’s interested, I finally finally uploaded my pictures of my Vietnam trip. We hiked a lot, biked a lot and most of all ate a lot. We saw food, people, city’s, villages, mountains, beaches, boats, lakes, motorbikes, animals and sooo much more. Here’s a little impression about how this beautiful and diverse country looks trough my camera and phone. Have a nice weekend!

The people of Vietnam; old, young and all so friendly

This genuine old lady has been the only fresh rice noodle provider for the whole town of Hoi An for ages. She made them without any modern equipment and was so full of joy.

Now she has a young assistant to help her out…

These handmade woven items from Kim Bong Village cost around $5 dollar a piece. It takes about half a half a day to make one.

3 days in Hanoi

Hello! Its been already a month ago since I visited Vietnam but I didn’t find any time earlier to tell you about my trip. Let’s start with Hanoi, which was almost similar to how I imagined it. Full of lantern, motobikes, street vendors, eateries and most of all chaos. Traffic rules don’t exist here, traffic rules don’t have any function and transporting the whole family on one motorcycle (without wearing a helmet) is the most ordinary thing in the world.

10 x DIY Kidsroom stuff

Besides the kitchen and bathroom, there’s off course the nursery that has priority (more about the process and completed space will follow). As much as I love furnishing and decorating this room, newborns don’t care anything yet about how their room looks like or what pieces of furniture or toys are in it (and I hope mine doen’t untill she’s all grown up and can take care of it herself :)). So’ we’re gonna keep it simple, get her some basic items and fun decorations, and personalize it by incorporating a few easy and cheap DIY elements. Here some ideas to share with you:

1. Every nursery needs a mobile. I’m gonna make my own Cloud Nursery Mobile (via Apartment Therapy).

DIY KIDS STUFF

2. Or this Cloud Mobile (via Pimp and Pomme).

Petit Pink

It’s no surprise that I love pink dresses. I have a closet full right now, that I don’t fit anymore :(. Each week I become fatter and fatter, up to the point that our little girl is expected to pop right after summer. So rather than getting myself more pink dresses that will look awful anyway, I started looking for pretty pink items for the little one that’s on her way :). Especially on lazy weekend like this one, I can’t resist swooning over all the cute pinkness I spotted. I’ve rounded up my 15 favorites pink mini outfits of today:

Sunday swooning over walkin closets

Today is a lazy Sunday, staying at home most of the day working on my new home project. One of the things I am most excited about is my future walkin closet. My own ultimate women’s cave where I can finally have a clear overview of my shoes, dresses, bags and more. I’ve been swooning over these closets all day:
