10 x DIY IKEA Hacks

Hi! It’s the first day of August and my last two weeks at work before I can finally fully focus on the new house and the little one that we can hopefully welcome next month! July went by so fast, spending lots of my spare time at IKEA. As you can guess, my new house will be full of IKEA pieces combined with some vintage items I stumbled upon by accident. On top of that I collected a few designer items because every house needs a few eyecatchers. These are actually my favorites. I wish I could furnish my whole house with designer pieces but unfortunately my bank account doesn’t allow me to. Luckily there are  a million of IKEA hacks ideas on the internet, that can make these simple items look like a million bucks. Here are my ten favorite ones:

1. The prettiest IKEA hack ever (via Babble).

2. The IKEA Rast 3 Drawer Chest never looked so chic before due to this IKEA rast campaign hack (via Almost makes perfect).

10 x DIY Kidsroom stuff

Besides the kitchen and bathroom, there’s off course the nursery that has priority (more about the process and completed space will follow). As much as I love furnishing and decorating this room, newborns don’t care anything yet about how their room looks like or what pieces of furniture or toys are in it (and I hope mine doen’t untill she’s all grown up and can take care of it herself :)). So’ we’re gonna keep it simple, get her some basic items and fun decorations, and personalize it by incorporating a few easy and cheap DIY elements. Here some ideas to share with you:

1. Every nursery needs a mobile. I’m gonna make my own Cloud Nursery Mobile (via Apartment Therapy).

2. Or this Cloud Mobile (via Pimp and Pomme).

10 x Valentine crafts

Valentine Collage

Since my brother was born on Valentine’s day, we normally celebrate his birthday that day but since he will be in London this year I have to think about something else to do. I won’t expect my hubby to organize anything because unfortunately, he isn’t much of a romanticist. Although I am not a very romantic person either, I want to do or make at least something in order to celebrate our happy eight year romance. Last year I made some DIY Valentine cards but I am not sure yet what to make this year. I’ve rounded up a few Valentine craft projects I love:

1. These DIY Bud Vases to put in my roses (via Britt + Co).

Pretty DIY Christmas Decoration

DIY Christmas Decoration

I pretty my purchased and wrapped all my presents but my house isn’t in the Christmas spirit at all yet. I’d love to have a Christmas tree but I simply can’t have one because of the lack of space in my tiny and full apartment. I am looking forward to the day I’ll be able to throw a big Christmas dinner and have a tree overloaded with gifts. But untill then, I can only decorate the house with some small Christmas items. Here are some pretty stylish Christmas items I would love make (if I had the time and space) to bring my house in the holiday hapiness:

1. Love this little charming illuminated wreath.

Gift wrapping for Christmas part II

Because of my busy schedule and all the gift wrapping I’ve been lazy writing my blog. December is always the busiest month for me; all work needs to be finished before the new year and tons of gift wrapping to do. But hopefully I will be back in my normal routine in January. Until Christmas, most of my spare time consists out of gift wrapping.  I shared some gift wrapping ideas with you in a former post and executed some of them. It didn’t exactly turned out the way I envisioned it but I am still happy with the results, which I will share with you next week. In the meanwhile, I’ve found some new simple and cool Christmas wrapping ideas:

1.  Creating a snowman has never been so easy.

2. Finish the snowman off with a snowman gift tag. Made from buttons, or white pom-poms

Scrub it

Now that the weather is getting cold, I need to take better care of my skin. I have a very sensitive skin, not made for cold weather circumstances. I shared some of my new haircare and skincare products with you but I am running out of stock. But when it’s freezing outside, I am getting lazy and want to stay indoors as much as possible. But luckily I found some recipies to make my own skin remedies at home with all natural ingredients.  Here some simple scrubs to make with just a few ingredients that I already have in my fridge:

1. Orange, honey, yoghurt and oats. That is what you need to make this orange- honey facial srub and mask.

DIY Scrub

2. Another simple -just 3 ingredients- scrub to make with orange: citrus salt scrub
